Using the OC Auto Fit Collection device, insert the green tip into the stool until all the grooves are covered. Place back into vial and close. Label with patient information.

Transport Information:
5 grams

Remarks:
No special drug or dietary restrictions are required for this test. Patients should not collect samples three days before, during or three days after their menstrual period, if they have bleeding hemorrhoids, blood in their urine, open cuts on their hands, or if they have strained during their bowel movement.  Roughage in the diet can increase test accuracy by helping uncover “silent” lesions which bleed intermittently.

Stability Comments:

Polymedco does not have any studies related to stability of stool samples prior to inoculation of the collection device. They recommends "inoculating ASAP".
