Plasma from Lavender tubes is acceptable but will not route in the Laboratory Information System (Sunquest).

Collection Information: 
Collect blood in a lithium heparin plasma separator tube or serum separator tube.

Transport Information: 
Centrifuge and aliquot 1.0 mL of plasma or serum into a plastic vial. Send refrigerated.

Minimum Sample Volume: 
0.3 mL of serum/plasma (approximately 0.6 mL of whole blood based upon a normal patient hematocrit)

Unacceptable Conditions: 
Hemolysis, lipemia or does not meet collection, storage or transport requirements
