Lavender (EDTA) is acceptable but will not route in the Laboratory Information System (Sunquest).
Collection Information:
Collect blood in a SST (Serum Separator) or Light Green (Lithium Heparin Plasma Separator Tube). Red (No Additive), Green No Gel (Lithium Heparin) and Lavender (EDTA) also acceptable.
Transport Information:
Centrifuge and aliquot 0.5 mL of serum or plasma into a plastic transport vial. Send refrigerated.
Minimum Sample Volume: 
0.3 mL of serum or plasma (approximately 0.6 mL of whole blood based upon a normal patient hematocrit)
Remarks:
Remove serum or plasma from cells ASAP
Unacceptable Conditions:
Gross lipemia. Grossly bloody, Hemolysis, Contaminated or does not meet collection, storage or transport requirements
