Collection Information:
Collect blood in a lavender (EDTA) tube. Yellow ACD A or B and Pink (EDTA) is also acceptable. This test requires it's own collection tube (sharing between departments is NOT acceptable).
Transport Information:
Transport original tube at room temperature. A separate EDTA (lavender-top) tube must be submitted for all HLA testing. HLA-B27 testing requires its own specimen separate and cannot be shared with other laboratory sections.

Unacceptable Conditions:
Aliquot, unlabeled or mislabeled samples will be rejected. HLA will determine specimen acceptability for reasons other than unlabeled/mislabeled.

All specimens will be evaluated by the Histocompatibility Department for test suitability.
