Collection Information: 
Bone Marrow/ Green Top (Sodium Heparin). An EDTA tube will be needed in addition to the green top if the patient does not also have a CBC ordered

4.0 mL bone marrow

1.0 mL

Remarks: 
Do not draw between 12pm Friday to 7 am Saturday Unless ordered STAT ***. If a CBC is ordered at the same time as the Leukemia panel, it is not necessary to draw an EDTA (purple top) tube. If a CBC is NOT ordered, draw a purple top tube, have hematology perform a CBC and place results with green top tube. The CBC must be run within 24 hours of draw time and may be submitted with specimen. Protect from excess heat and cold. Do not refrigerate. Do not centrifuge (Lab staff: notify Flow Cytometry when specimen arrives in Lab.)

Unacceptable Conditions: 
If specimen is hot or cold to the touch, more than 48 hours old when received in testing area (Flow Cytometry), clotted or does not meet collection, storage or transport requirements
